I was a little worn out this morning and didn’t have any good ideas at hand for a project. Luckily we’ve got plenty of books full of ideas laying around, so I asked the boys to open up Zome Geometry and find something interesting to build:

They ended up choosing the “challenge” at the beginning of section 21.1 – “Make a dodecahedron in which six of the faces are squared and six are parallelograms.”

Here are their thoughts on the project:

A Zometool set make geometry – and 3d geometry in particular – accessible to everyone. It is so fun to hear what kids have to say when they build and then hold new shapes in their hands!
