Using Hypernom to get kids talking about math

In the last few days I’ve seen several posts about Hypernom – the new game from Vi Hart, Andrewa Hawksley, Henry Segerman, with Emily Eifler and Marc ten Bosch helping out, too.

Here’s a post by Andrea Hawksley that talks about the game:

The geometry behind the game is really interesting and I thought it would be fun to hear how kids would react to playing the game. So, I asked 5 kids – two 8th graders, a 6th grader, a 5th grader, and a 4th grader to play it. Here’s what they had to say – I found all of the reactions to be completely fascinating.

  1. This is really neat, both the game and the responses to it by the children.
