What learning math sometimes looks like: Angles in a Polygon

I recently talked about angles in a triangle with my younger son. For today’s discussion I thought it would be fun to talk about angles in polygons. My son had some absolutely lovely ideas. It is so fun to hear how a kid thinks about a topic like this one.

Sorry this is a little longer that usual – 7 minutes instead of 5 – but if you are interested in hearing kids talk about math I think you’ll like this talk a lot.

  1. Cool. It was interesting to see the jump from quad to pentagon. Took a more circuitous path than I would have expected. And then the jump from 5 to n was quick! Did you throw some concave polygons at him yet?
