We bought more Zometool pieces and have been playing around quite a bit with them lately. It is such a fun tool to help learn about 3D geometry. For example:
Most of the stuff we’ve been building lately has used the blue struts, so we tried a special red strut challenge today for fun.
I built shape and noticed that it could be surrounded by cubes:
“That’s cool, dad, my shape can be surrounded by a dodecahedron”:
and then, as if there was need for yet another example of why the Zome sets are so great for learning, just wondering what the “widest” shape he could build, he constructed (what turns out to be) a Truncated Dodecahedron out of the short blues.
